The bandwidth parameter influences OSPF interface metric (cost), and
thus OSPF routing decisions. The default metric is 100m / ifspeed.
This is nothing new - it's documented and has been like this for
"ages". It is fairly common nowadays to set the reference-bandwidth
to a higher number than 100 Mbps.
