(I really don't want to know how the internal architecture looks like,
that leads to "some layer 3 functionality does work over a given
and well-established layer 2 infrastructure, and other functionality
doesn't" - having non properly load-shared v6 would be bad, but
non-working-at-all v6 is a real pushback).
