Not quite the same, but I've seen corruption just from loading IOS images
onto a CF (ATA disk) card in one 7206 and moving the card to a slightly
different 7206. I've found it's safest to format CF cards in the actual
router they'll live in, and then ftp/tftp download them into the router.
