Ok, since then the guy who said it admitted that he was really more
concerned that the older crds would force a 720 backplane to negotite down
to 720 across the board, so when he said "not compatible" he really meant
"don't wanna sacrifice new,e xpensive cards to a device running IPT which
would cripple them all."

And the list price of a sup32 *with an ip license* is virtually the same
as a native 720. Most of the advice I've had about the 32 has stressed
that it's intended for the wiring closet, none l3 access layer. So that's
what I meant there.

And yeah, no Native IOS on there just yet, either. All round, it seems
that if you're gonna run l3 on a switch, you may as well shell out for the
720.

I've also been told that IOS availability for the Sup32 is about a month
away. Until then, it's CatOS... I'm also expecting the Sup32 to suffer
from what I'll call the "NPE-G1 syndrome" (very limited selection of IOS
images and what does exist has a scatter-shot of neat Sev1 and Sev2 bugs)
for at least a few months.
