[c-nsp] 6500 w/sup32 as BGP edge router?

thanks everybody for the feedback so far. i have tried to summarize to the
following points,

1) the sup32 software is not ready yet, therefore no routing yet.
2) rate-limiting etc. uses the same PFC3B that the sup720 does.
3) routing performance will be slightly less than a sup720 as the MSFC2A
has less horsepower than the '3 used on the sup720 has.
4) sup32 is not fabric enabled and thus has less throughput in the end
(limited to the bus of 32Gbps) then a sup720.

when comparing to a sup720 i'd say that unless the fabric features of the
sup720 are required use the sup32. they use the same PFC3B, and the sup32
has only slightly less power routing-wise.

compared to the 7200 router platform i'd say that the sup32 should beat it
performance-wise by a large margin. or am i mistaken?

when taking pricing into account the sup32 comes out pretty nice. the
whole 6503/sup32 combo is about $15K list. a brand-new 7304/NSE or
7206VXR/NPE-G1 runs $20K...

anybody have any insights comparing this to the 7300 using the NSE?

thanks,
Rutger
