Dear List,

I am getting the following entry in one of my switches' logs:
It is a cisco WS-C2950-24 --Version 12.1(13)EA1c--

Feb 1 01:32:21: %SPANTREE-2-RECV_BAD_TLV: Received SSTP BPDU with bad TLV
on FastEthernet0/9 VLAN127.
Feb 1 02:45:26: %SPANTREE-2-RECV_BAD_TLV: Received SSTP BPDU with bad TLV
on FastEthernet0/9 VLAN127.
Feb 1 03:59:07: %SPANTREE-2-RECV_BAD_TLV: Received SSTP BPDU with bad TLV
on FastEthernet0/9 VLAN127.
Feb 1 04:43:55: %SPANTREE-2-RECV_BAD_TLV: Received SSTP BPDU with bad TLV
on FastEthernet0/9 VLAN127.
Feb 1 07:18:17: %SPANTREE-2-RECV_BAD_TLV: Received SSTP BPDU with bad TLV
on FastEthernet0/9 VLAN127.

The configuration of port 9 is:
!
interface FastEthernet0/9
description AU -- 2.4 GHz (cell)
 switchport trunk native vlan 1000
 switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,110,111,116,118,121-123,125,127,131,132,136
switchport trunk allowed vlan add 137,140,801,900,1002-1005
 switchport mode trunk
 no ip address
 speed 10
 no cdp enable
!

and VTP configs:
=============
vtp mode transparent
!
spanning-tree mode pvst
no spanning-tree optimize bpdu transmission
spanning-tree extend system-id

an Alvarion radio (in trunk mode) is connected to this port.
The customer with vlan 127 has another Alvarion radio which tags the traffic
with 127 tag.
This customer has attached to his radio a series of D-Link switches, and
behind those switches, he has his routers and firewall (PIX 501).

WS-C2950-24-FastEthernet0/9

Our-Radio (trunking-mode)

Customer-radio<-D-Link DSS+8<-PIX 501<-|
                                  |<-D-Link
                                  |<-D-Link<- Dev Server, Desktops

The server at the customer place is connected to the PIX 501 with private IP
(for VPNS), and also connected to the D-link switch

Do you think that this issue is due to a device configuration at the
customer end, trying to participate in the Spanning Tree?

Regards

Mario Antonio
