[c-nsp] Cisco 4948's

Hello,

I've settled upon using a Cisco Catalyst 4948 (enhanced image)
switch within the core of a medium-sized network. I also plan on
deploying this switch for a dedicated backup infrastructure with Intel
Gigabit NICs on the server end of things to facilitate a large amount
of out-of-band backup data.

This particular switch will be at the core with a dozen or so
2950G-48's and a half-dozen or so 3560-48's connecting to it, so my
only concern right off the bat is just port density but fortunately
there will only be a few fiber going into it to occupy the SFPs and
roughly 25 or so copper-based gig uplinks.

The 4948 switch is fairly new and I'm wondering if anyone who has
these deployed has any useful insight into caveats, praise good or
bad, etc?

Thanking you in advance.

WJ
