[c-nsp] Cisco ios or catos

I'm having a little trouble following the cisco site as it seems there 
info all over the place, but here's my situation. I have a Catalyst 
2948G with a catos version of 5.2(1) and from what i understand from the 
cisco site, the latest catos version that will work on this switch is 
8.2GLX?  Also, is there no possible way to run IOS on this switch?
