It's not about the boot code. That's easy to fix when you can
just write new code. It's not as easy if the ROMMON doesn't
support it which is what is the case with the RSP4. We did
and will not support that because if your IOS image fails
and your boot image fails for some reason you are hosed.
You can not recover the system.
It's clearly stated in the RSP4/4+ Installation and Configuration
Guide:
