Whats your OC3 traffic look like? What sort of CPU utilization are you
seeing on the VIPs? Assuming you're using dCEF, the RSP probably isn't
being worked that hard other than during BGP flaps. Assuming that's the
case, I think the only benefits you'd get from an RSP8 upgrade are ECC
memory for the RSP and much more MEMD buffers for the VIPs to place
packets in when they switch packets between each other.
If you do get better VIPs, use them for the interfaces that receive the
most PPS.
