Tell him that if he wants lower latency, he'll have to increase the
speed of light thru fiber, which is 2/3 of the speed of light in vacuum.
RTT increases by 1ms every 100km of distance and the distance from New
Zeeland to NYC is quite substantial. What you're seeing is quite normal
for that distance.
