While I use Cisco and Juniper to route my customers, I know of others  
who use linux boxes with quagga, and have seen anywhere from 400mbits  
to 1.5 gbits depending on how complex the routing load is (ranging  
from full table with netflow, to default + limited table) using  
relatively modest modern gear (appropriate number of intel pci-x gig- 
e, xeon 2.8 ghz).
