To see what peers you have (and their status etc) via SNMP have a look
at the mib-2.bgp branch of the OID tree. Use a mib browser (or the
Cisco Object navigator on CCO) and look at the bgpPeerTable at
1.3.6.1.2.1.15.3.1
As for working out what's upstream and what's downstream, that's
something only you can decide upon based on your local criteria (eg.
peer address not in one of your address blocks or something).
