[c-nsp] the difference betwwen stacking link and crossover link

Hi All:

what is the difference between using stack cable
linking two switches together and using crossover
cable linking two switches together?

seem to me that crossover links are configurable and
stack links are. that's all i know.

can anyone point some url for reading on this subject?
