My own followup on this... CCO shows two different sets of suitable
images. One matches what I already have, and one excludes it.

The NPE-G1 is supported in 12.2(4)BW, 12.2(15)B, 12.2(14)S, 12.2(14)SU,
12.2(15)T, 12.1(14)E, 12.3(1), 12.3(2)T, 12.0(28)S, 12.3(1a)B, and later

Cisco 7204VXR and Cisco 7206VXR
Cisco IOS Release 12.2(4)BW
Cisco IOS Release 12.2(8) B or later releases of 12.2 B
I'm currently running 12.1(22)E1; c7200-js-mz.121-22.E1.bin
7206VXR routers are basically used as media converters connecting our
upstreams to our core. BGP RR-client, uRPF, and compiled ACLs are used.
dot1q/subinterface support may also be required, but it's not likely.
Upstreams will be either Gigabit fiber or PA-POS-OC3 (depending on telco).
Anybody have real-world experience to verify usablility of my existing
version, or suggestion of a more appropirate version?
Thanks,
Rick!
