The 3750s also support PoE, and you can specify the power class of a device
on the other end of a port.

Don't have a 3550 in front of me but my 3560 you have two options on a
per interface basis; auto or never.

Hope that helps.

Subject: [c-nsp] POE - 3550 or other

Hi there...

This may seem like a silly question but here goes..:)

We have some needs in the short term for POE switches (Cisco IP Phones).
Looking at 3550 or other entry level switch that has POE support.

My question is... Can you turn power on and off per port on these
switches?

Thanks,

Paul Stewart
