Oh well.
We have gremlins in the machine room. For some weird reason, the LC
cable to the 7301 wasn't really plugged in all the way - the "click" was
missing.
Now it is, and (wonderful world) the errors are gone...
I'm still a bit puzzzed about the specific meaning of the individual
error messages, though - like "%SYS-3-PORT_DOT3_ALIGNMENT_ERROR" vs.
"%SYS-3-PORT_ALIGNMENT_ERROR", both of which show up on another port,
and neither can be found on www.cisco.com...
