Only for the small ones.  Which have lots of other limitations when used
for more than L2 (like "no ACL counters, no netflow, really no way [except
SPAN, which is not always possible] to track what a rogue customer machine 
is doing").

On a 6500/Sup720, the vlan interface counters work perfectly well 
(they get updated with a certain "coarse" granularity from the hardware
counters, but that's fine with me).
