It will prevent a group without an RP from being flooded in your network.
You can configure an "RP of Last Resort" to prevent this, or, just use the
'no ip pim dm-fallback' knob.
I'd turn it on, just to avoid the potential issues caused by the
misconfiguration of static RP info.
