[c-nsp] Layer 3 Switch operation

Hi,

There are basically two ways (assuming you're talking Cisco);

1. Physical interfaces can be defined as L2 or L3 interfaces.  The
switch will act according to this.

2. A logical "Switched Virtual Interface" (SVI) can be created (one or
more) and placed in a VLAN in which one or more L2 ports are members.
This means packets will be L2 switched and L3 switched if they are
destined for the SVI logical interface.
