You will only see "LAN BASE" on layer 2-only switches, e.g. 29**.  It does
not support IP routing.

On layer 3 switches, there is "IP BASE" which does IP routing, but if you
want to use dynamic routing protocols (e.g. OSPF, EIGRP) you need "IP
SERVICES".  There are other differences, but that's the major one.

Sometimes you'll also see "ADVANCED IP SERVICES", which typically indicates
IPv6 support.
