I'm convinced I'm missing something obvious here. This shouldn't be
hard. I'm trying to connect a pair of 7204 NPE-G1's with PA-GE's w/ SX
GBIC's. I've inserted the PA-GE cards and inserted the GBIC's, but all
I get is:
sh cont gigabitethernet 2/0
Interface GigabitEthernet2/0(idb 0x50077080)
Hardware is WISEMAN 2.1, network connection mode is auto
network link is down(NO CARRIER)
loopback type is none
startup time: 404 usec
GBIC is missing
sh int gigabitEthernet 2/0
GigabitEthernet2/0 is up, line protocol is down
Hardware is WISEMAN, address is 0004.de7c.ec38 (bia 0004.de7c.ec38)
Internet address is 209.173.128.21/30
MTU 1500 bytes, BW 1000000 Kbit, DLY 10 usec,
reliability 255/255, txload 1/255, rxload 1/255
Encapsulation ARPA, loopback not set
Keepalive set (10 sec)
Full-duplex, 1000Mb/s, link type is autonegotiation, media type is
unknown 23
output flow-control is unsupported, input flow-control is unsupported
I've tried several GBIC's and tried a spare PA-GE card and get the same
thing every time. What am I missing?
Andrew
