What kind of cards?  I had an SFC go to sleep last week; knocked out all 
non-Engine 0 cards in the box (which in our case rendered it just about 
useless anyway).  No FAIL light illuminated on the SFC in question, but 
no log entry showing that it'd died, no log entry showing it'd been 
pulled out, but we did have a log entry upon insertion.  All E1/2 LCs 
showed "Bandwidth Low" on their displays in this case.
