Well, the 3548 is EOS, for starters, so getting code upgrades for it
will probably go away soon (if it hasn't already). It will be
end-of-support as of July of next year.
Good enough reason to avoid it IMHO.
Your Cisco rep could probably point out the specific performance
differences, but the above would be all I need to know.
