Hi,

I am going to get rid of my 7513 ... sob sob ... sniffles :(

Anyhow I am looking to get a new 7606, but configuration wise it is a bit of
a daunting task. Therefore I need some help:

The basic requirements are very straight forward:

1. The router must have a route processor which can cope with at least 2Gigs
of traffic but must have a good packet throughput that allows it to take
attacks without failing. Also it must have 1G of RAM and be capable of
having multiple full BGP tables. Additonal needed features are: IPv4 and
IPv6 support, bandwidth management and policing, VLANs and netflow exports.

2. It must have at least 4 Gigabit ports for WAN connections (1000LX or
1000ZX). Here I get a bit confused because there seems to be GE cards
intended to WAN and GE cards intended for LAN ! What is the difference?

WS-X6148-GE-TX - Is this a LAN only card?
WS-X6408A-GBIC - Is this a WAN only card?

Because apart of the personality (i.e. GBIC or TX) I cannot find any
differnces.

3. Multiple LAN GE (RJ45) connections. (at least 10)

As a final comment I am at loss in choosing between the SUP32 and the
SUP720. It is true that having the 720 it better but from my requirements
maybe I do not need such specs. After all I do not want to get a white
elephant!

Please comment and advise.
Thanks in Advance
Gordon
