Actually, it's "all this is *Web* traffic and it needs to be balanced".

(There is some 10 Mbit/s which is just internal-to-internal, and a little
bit of management traffic, but all the rest is "Web")

Of course one could do things like "the CSS does redirects to specific
physical servers that are then reached directly", but in the specific
setup, the additional redirect is unwanted due to additional latency.

No chance to swap the hardware "just to get 1000BaseT" :)
