Hello all,
recently we've discovered a bug in "show interface transceiver" output
on Catalyst3750 - it displays wrong values for Optical Receive Power.
We opened SR 602829983 with Cisco TAC, but after a month of email
exchages we've received a response that according to business unit this
is not supported on 3750.
However, SFP diagnostic monitoring was officially released on Cat3750
in 12.2(20)SE and since then all release notes state:
Minimum Cisco IOS Release for Major Features:
SFP module diagnostic management interface:
Minimum IOS required 12.2(20)SE on Catalyst 3750, 3560, 2970
12.2(25)FX on Catalyst 2960
But when we've opened a support request, we've been denied any support.
Could anyone please comment/help here? There's only a small bug in one of
the output values, but despite this seems it was decided to silently
discontinue optical monitoring support on these switching platforms. So even
though almost all SFPs are now available from Cisco with optical monitoring,
we won't be able to use this feature on these switches ????
Here is the sample output describing the bug - all values are correct
except Received Optical Power - also there, the raw A2D readouts in
parenthessis are correct:
#sh inte tra detail
mA: milliamperes, dBm: decibels (milliwatts), NA or N/A: not applicable.
++ : high alarm, + : high warning, - : low warning, -- : low alarm.
A2D readouts (if they differ), are reported in parentheses.
The threshold values are calibrated.
