If your DSL provider uses PPPoE put the ZyXEL in bridge mode and let the
D-Link perform the PPPoE connection.
Documentation, etc can be found here:

Subject: [c-nsp] Zyxel mode bridge
Hi friends, I have a router ADSL Zyxel Prestige 645R-A1, it has a IP
public address, also I have a router Linksys D-Link 824 VUP+ behind
of router ADSL Zyxel, I want to make connections VPNs beetween Dlink
and router Linux with Openswan, but I do not know how I can configure
my Zyxel in mode bridge and the Dlink have the IP public address. Can
anyone help me with it?
I do not have user guide or Zyxel documentation
