Hi!
Today our of our engineers by mistake issued 'write erase' and 'reload'
commands on one of ours 6509.. Well, engineer punched, configuration
reloaded again, and router works for now, but we still have one
issue with it: i'm not able to store config in nvram anymore..
With usual 'wri mem'/'copy runn star' i'm getting:
RT001-201#wri mem
startup-config file open failed (Device not ready)
RT001-201#copy runn star
Destination filename [startup-config]?
startup-config file open failed (Device not ready)
and, while i'm able to store config to external tftp server,
I'm not able to store it back to nvram:
RT001-201#copy tftp star
Address or name of remote host []? 192.168.10.34
Source filename []? rt001-201
Destination filename [startup-config]?
Accessing tftp://192.168.10.34/rt001-201...
Loading rt001-201 from 217.170.80.83 (via GE-WAN9/4): !
%Error opening nvram:/startup-config (Device not ready)
Nvram looks like ok:
RT001-201#dir nvram:
Directory of nvram:/
383 ---- 0 <no date> private-config
384 -rw- 0 <no date> underlying-config
391160 bytes total (391108 bytes free)
another 'write erase' re-initializes nvram geometry,
May 11 17:48:42.863 MSD: %SYS-SP-7-NV_BLOCK_INIT: Initialized the geometry of nvram
but it does not helps (errors the same).
Surely, noone looking config in the time:
RT001-201#show file descriptors
File Descriptors:
No open file descriptors
Question is: how to fix this issue ? Preferrably without router reboot ? :)
