Im addition to this topic, anyone knows how many traffic can support an IpSec Tunnel over a point to point FE between a 7206 VXR and 7400 ASR (IpSec configured on both by Soft).
Thanks,
Christian

74xx can't do IPSEC in hardware.

Cisco recommends the 7301 in place of the 7401 and the 7301 can support a hardware encryption module.

Or get one of the ISR routers (28xx, 38xx) that have the on board crypto module.

For the 72xx get a hardware module to do the encryption.

We don't even test any encryption without a hardware accelerator for performance reasons.
