It's like a mini WDM (Wave Division Multiplexing) mux/demux that runs 4
lamdas at about 2.5Gb/s each through multimode fiber so that 10GbE can
have more than some 20-30 meter reach over legacy fiber. A nifty trick,
but mostly targeted at enterprises and the like that may not have
singlemode everywhere like service providers are likely to.
