Hi Gang,

Just wondering if it's possible to run the PPPoE in routed environment.
The scenario is below:
----------------------

    |-------------(LNS-7301)
    | |-------------AAA-servers
    | |
Cat-6509----------100megs-----remote-site-A--------ME-3400-------PPPoE
Client
    |
                     |
    |
                     |
    |
                     |

|----------100megs-----------remote-site-B---------ME-3400-------PPPoE
Client
    |
                     |
    |
                     |

|----------100megs-----------remote-site-C---------ME-3400-------PPPoE
Client

Trying to figure out what is the best solution for this application.
It's pretty much ring application. The goals are as below:

a) ME-3400 should able to send the traffic using various path
b) Best path selection - latency, traffic, hops etc
c) PPPoE clients authentication in routed environment!!
d) Do anyone know if there is a web-based client for PPPoE authentication?

Couple of things in my mind:
-----------------------------
1) Is it possible to run PPPoE in routed environment?? Same problem was
with DHCP in routed environment but there is a command "IP helper
address" which solves DHCP issue.

2) Running OSPF on all switches (routing) will provide the best path
selection.

3) Inter-VLAN routing - will forwared PPPoE packets and for load
balancing run MSTP ???

It's open for discussion.
