Jee,
Two things,
1) You got to patch up your physical layer which goes unidirectional every now and then. Its really a grave issue.
2) Do i understand it right that you want to get your OSPF down when you loose hello's?
You may want to try BFD for OSPF.
More inputs from you side would be appreciated.

I use SEC (syslog parser) for things like this, works quite well once
you get used to the config syntax. I have a fairly busy syslog server
and it uses very little CPU, unlike most parsers.
