Every eight ports connect to an ASIC which in turn connect to
the dual-rotating 16 Gbps stacking ring. (The 3560 uses the same
ring architecture as the 3750, it just not exposed to the outside
of the switch).

Because of that architecture (a 16 Gbps dual-rotating ring as
backplane), a 24-port 10/100/1000-switch is technically over-
subscribed. However, for most uses that's kind of a moot point,
as the switch is normally uplinked with far lest bandwidth.

The 8G ASIC is also why the 10G port is (at best) an 8G port.

PS: If you need something non-blocking, look at the 4948.
