[c-nsp] Quick question about redundant connections.

OK,

So let us assume it is an issue with FIB, is there any way to detect that this problem is imminent? Is there a way to track LC RAM utilization via SNMP or another way?

Maybe that would be a good first step.

The "stops routing" sounds like FIB issues causing CEF to turn off on
the linecards. How much memory do you have on the linecards? (  "show
diags | inc (SLOT|MEM-|Engine)"  ). If you have less than 256M processor
memory on any linecard you may want to look into taking it up to 256M.

To check if this is indeed happening, the next time it happens try
executing a "execute-on slot <slot> show cef state", if CEF is disabled,
the LC may have run out of memory.

Sounds like a probable candidate for BFD; but doesn't quite explain why
your box "stops routing".
