So.... for those others who have confirmed the 877-M issue for me....

Do you really need a special version of the IOS even on an 877-M?  Having
the hardware isn't enough, you need a particular IOS to enable it?

what u need to the cisco 877-m work with annex m is an update for cisco ios
try get a copy of the c870-advipservicesk9-mz.124-11.XJ3.bin
and it will work just nice ;d
