Hi Folks.

Can someone help me out here.

I've got a problem regarding span ports on Cisco 3750.

The setup is as follows.:

Pe router 1 ----- Dot1q trunk ----- Switch 1 ----- Dot1q trunk ------- Border Controller 1

                                                                                                                                   active

                                                                |

                                                           Dot1q trunk

                                                                 |

Pe router 2 ----- Dot1q trunk ----- Switch 2 ----- Dot1q trunk ------- Border Controller 2

                                                                                                                                   standby

The switches are Cisco Catalyst 3750G-24TS.

Each switch has configured a local span port where all the traffic to each border controller is copied to.

The two switches are setup as vtp transparent.

How can it be that I'm seeing duplicated SIP on switch 2 when the Border setup is announcing its mac-adr on switch 1 port gi1/0/27.

I know that spanning a trunk can give some problems, but this I don't understand.

The Border Controller setup is from Acme Packet, and uses no kind off traffic on the switch link to communicate to each other, that's done via dedicated redundancy links between the boxes.
