I have been told by TAC that the IPv4 security problems have been fixed
in 12.2(18)S12 (because we asked about a rebuild for our NPE-225s).  So 
this might be a viable mitigation path for you.

The IPv6 problem is still present in (18)S12, but that might not worry
everbody else... - it *does* worry us, so we're still working with TAC
to get an (18)S rebuild that fixes *all* issues.
