Good to know. I didn't think there could really be this big of a
show-stopper without either vendor noticing.

No, but they did previously have servers connected to them at 1000/full
(autonegotiating everything).

Several others have gently pointed out in private that *ahem* make sure that
crossover cable has all four pairs crossed. Whoops. Pretty sure they didn't.
