Afaik SRP/DPT has a 802.1 header so basically it's ethernet. It was a 
strategic decision by cisco not to use it for switching. I even asked the 
GSR BU back in 2001 or so if they would do bridging code for the GSR to 
bridge it, but they said no. "Never going to happen".
