[c-nsp] End-to-end up/down awareness for EoMPLS on VLAN

I'm looking for the most effective way to obtain awareness of the
existence or failure of EoMPLS xconnect's across an MPLS cloud being
provided to an edge IP layer via VLAN sun-interfaces. Platforms are
7206, GSR and 6509 Sup7203bxl. Routing is mix of OSPF, BGP and
static. I know there is a mechanism on GSR IOS that can put Ethernet
into up/down state if associated xconnect is down, but this does not
extend to VLAN sub-interfaces.

Are there any oam-style facilities available for this? would BFD work
or using saa to track ip hop and withdraw route be the best approach?

Thanks!
