Explicit routes between endpoints
In the case where there are multiple LSPs between the two PEs, it may be
desirable to be able to select which LSP is used to route a VC. For
example, multiple traffic engineering paths may be created in order to
carry various grades of traffic. The first implementation will allow the
service provider to select more than one LSP to a destination router, but
the implementation may not fully interoperable with other vendors
implementation. The reason for this initially is the lack of clear
guidelines and procedures in [1] which explains how to set up the LDP
session or how many should be setup. The Cisco implementation will employ
multiple LDP targetted discoveries for to each destination address
specified. A Cisco router will respond by re-using an existing targeted
session if one exists. Other vendors routers may not be capable of this.
