It's been running about a year on AC power. It's always had 1 DC and 1 AC
in the router, it's never had both connected at the same time. When it was
moved we were going to setup our own DC power plant but it never got done.
The UPS that feeds the router is on borrowed time so I need to get it moved
off. Besides it needs a second power supply connected to a second UPS and
now is as good a time as any. I really didn't want to drive into work at
midnight for
The rack that was next to us at the old place had some 7200s both VXR and
Non VXRs with both AC and DC connected. I couldn't tell anymore than the
green leds were lit up on them.

If the new home doesn't have DC, one would assume the router isn't powered
up there, so hot swapping the power supply is not an issue. According to
cisco docs, you can't mix AC and DC supplies in a 7200. I've never tried
it to see what happens.
BTW, the cards are hot swappable. Do a search for 7200 OIR (or as many
have come to call it, Online Insert and Reboot).
