No, POS doesn't make sense.
I would recommend going for equal cost multipath over parallell gigs to
link your 7600, and when you have more than 2-3, then you should be able
to justify a SIP-601 and SPA-TENGE for the gsr.
Or, if you only run ethernet you can ditch the GSR altogether and do
everything in the 7600.
Etherchannel on the GSR is not something I would recommend. It's really
bad if you're running the older Engine 2 linecards, otherwise it's
managable. I still recommend ECMP over Etherchannel, though.
