42 3750G-48TS-E would give you 2016 10/100/1000 RJ-45 ports, and would
fit into one full-height rack.  However, any scheme that I can think of
to interconnect them would leave the links that interconnect the
switches vastly oversubscribed.

42 3750E-48TD would give you the same 2016 10/100/1000 RJ-45 ports and
give you 10GE uplinks.  The uplinks would still be oversubscribed, but
less so than the previous solution.
