Hello,
According to CCO Document:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/products/hw/switches/ps708/products_
tech_note09186a00804916e0.shtml
a 'show interface' shows you the amount of incoming traffic L3 or L2
switched.
So, for example:
sh int gigabitEthernet 5/1
<ommitted..>
L2 Switched: ucast: 31170 pkt, 4476892 bytes - mcast: 624 pkt, 100528
bytes
L3 in Switched: ucast: 78780568 pkt, 47821219851 bytes - mcast: 0 pkt,
0 bytes mcast
L3 out Switched: ucast: 82054076 pkt, 54023982637 bytes mcast: 0 pkt,
0 bytes
<ommitted..>
Does this mean that majority of incoming traffic was sent to CPU instead
of forwarded in hardware
OR
the fact that since the above is a later 3 interface, the incoming
traffic was 'routed' as oppossed to Layer2-switched?
Thanks,
Mark
