Hi,

is it possible to announce subnet only if two
interfaces is up?

we got such a situation :

          Outside network

        OSPF runs
    Cat4503(1) -------------- Cat4503(2)

         heatbeat
  load balancer-1 ----------- load balancer -2

         Internal network

the whole network is given a Class C IP address
block, which is announced to outside by OSPF, two
Cat4503 are used as border routers.

As there will be only ONE l4-switch active at any
time, traffic from outside MUST flow through link ( or
trunk) between the two Cat4503s. That is, traffic
could not flow through the other load balancer to
internal network.

But, when the link (or trunk ) between two Cat4503
is down, two 4503 will keep announcing the same IP
network to outside. But, when traffic arrive at the
catalyst 4503 which just connects to a standby load
balancer, it will be dropped.

So, is is possible to configure Catalyst4503 to
announce IP network only if link between 4503 and link
to Load balancer is active ?

  thanks in advance .

Joe
