I have quick perl hack that checks the ftp server, and outputs
when new IOS release directories are seen. I personally
run it from crontab and pipe to 'mail -e'.
It's not exactly user friendly to setup, so some nix clues
might be needed. But if it fits the bill, I'm happy to
share it.
