Just an aside - an mtu of 1504 only gives you room for a 1500-byte frame
plus _one_ mpls label. Most things you'd want to do using mpls, such as
traffic engineering or vpns, require a stack of more than one label.

I'd suggest an mtu of 1516 or even 1524. You could also just set it to
the maximum that is supported by all ports of the given layer-2 net.
