In addition to these detailed and excellent guidelines (I'd add 'sh  
fm sum' to the arsenal, as well, along with careful ACL construction  
to minimize LOU consumption), keep in mind that PBR on 7600 is  
limited to extended ACL matches for hardware processing (i.e.,  
matching on packet sizes isn't supported in hardware), and that from  
an operational standpoint, PBR is fairly static and brittle in  
nature, and is non-transitive, as well.  If there's another way to  
accomplish your aim, it might be worth considering.
